| in about a week or so.. What started out as what we thought were just blown turbo seals, as turned out to be "A BIT" more than that.. lol.. Recently picked up a 95 TTZ 5speed, with 154K miles on the clock. We thought the turbo seals were the only major issues.. Motor has poor compression numbers... **Thankfully... My girls Mechanic, when I drove the Z there to get some furture in depth guidance on it, has a "GET this..lol.. Fully rebuilt 95TTZ Motor with 50K miles on it @ the time of the rebuild; already sitting in his shop.. Story goes.. A customer blew the head gasket on this 95TTZ at the time, and since they had to tear into in, to do that repair, he decided he wanted to do several other things with it to get more performance from it.. they did the FULL rebuild, then he found another car with a MONSTER built engine, that had gotten rear ended, and totaled, and decided he wanted that in his car instead.. he just said screw it, and left the motor and what not there.. The shop owner said ok, wrapped the motor up for storage and basically time went by since then.. lol.. So when we pulled out the pallet and undid all the wrapping.. I was shocked and amazed that of all the shops, in all the city.. I found one that was a EXACT year match.. it only had 50K miles on it @ the time.. the original receipts for the parts and related documentation for it was still on file in the archives, lol..! It had 49,783 miles on the car's clock when they pulled it for the head gasket, and rebuild.. We laughed about this over a couple of beers in the shop.. and we then a agreement and he sold me the engine for $300 buckaroo's..with a 1 year bumper to bumper to bumper warranty on it once he's finished cleaning her up and updating gaskets, etc...he he Since the motor has been zip locked so long, We are gonna get it all cleaned up, and use the top end parts of mine, ie: injectors, etc.. Now that I have found a motor for what I think is a great price and value.. What should I do next..? I was thinking...Rebuild the existing turbo's, replacing all hoses, belts, sensors, etc.. that go bad with age.. She currently is all stock with the exception of these few minor mods: -JWT Pop Charger -JWT Stage 3 ECU -Still turbo back exhuast, (hollowed out from end to end, no cats:) Thast about it.. Doing all her maintence is gonna eat up a huge chunk of my toy play money.. What else shoould I do, while shes apart, is it worth reuilding those stockers, and save for a bigger upgrade package in the next few months?? All input is MUCH appreciated.. ~M.
